August 11, 2010Guests fishing both the Main and West Waterhen Rivers are reporting fishing to be very good with limits being caught in no time. Blue and Pink Spinners tipped with Beef Heart and Frozen Minnows seem to be working the best. Weather remains hot and is looking good going into the weekend. Looking forward to seeing all of our guests checking in this upcoming weekend starting tommorrow!

August 3, 2010Fishing on both rivers remains good right now as most anglers are still catching limits of walleye. This past weekend saw our 9th annual fishing derby and pig roast come and go with over 300 people attending the weekend festivities. Congratulations to both the adult and youth winners in all the fish specie catagories!! A total of 137 fish where caught during the derby. Thank you to all who came out during all the festivities which also included the horseshoe tournament,karaokee and firewoks. The fall fishing is looking great as water levels remain high and fish already are becoming real active!!
July 25, 2010New reports from guests are that fish are extremely active and biting good on "wally divers" and blue or pink spinners tipped with a leech on the whole Waterhen system. Most walleye being caught are 16-20 inches which are perfect for eating.Our fishing derby coming up this Saturday is looking to be another great day.Hopefully the weather will stay like it has been the last 3-4 days. Lots of well deserved sun!! Water levels are excellent and boat launches all in excellent shape. The upcoming fall fishing is shaping up to be another World Class Fishing frenzy for anglers to experience and enjoy once again on the beautiful and historic Waterhen Rivers.
July 20, 2010Latest fishing reports from guests that the walleye are biting real good on the West Waterhen River.Anglers using leeches and nightcrawlers are having best success.Walleye between 17-22 inches very common.Water levels are high and all boat launches in excellent condition.The high water levels are great for all those that like and enjoy tubing/canoeing down the historic Waterhen River!!! Just under two weeks till our 9th annual Fish Derby/Pig Roast/Music/Karaokee/Horseshoe Tournament and Fireworks festivities.Lots of serviced camping still available and we look forward to seeing everyone for another fun filled and crazy weekend! July 10, 2010Guests this morning were reporting fishing on the West Waterhen is hot. Walleye one after another and anywhere from 17-22 inches. Nightcrawlers and leeches are the ticket. Pink jigs and pink/silver spinners seemed to be the "color" yesterday! Finally lots of nice weather in store according to the long term forcast from Environment Canada. If the West Waterhen is anything like the last 6 years, sport anglers will see once again, World Classs Walleye fishing at its finest!! The Main Waterhen River is still good too, however, walleye are in deeper holes that have to be worked differently and fisherman that know this system are catching in good numbers still. Water levels are high and we sit in great shape for the summer and fall fishing. |
